Inside Wilton House Concours des Légendes | Aston Martin, F1 Icons & One-Offs

Join Fuel the Passion inside Wilton House Concours des Légendes, where Aston Martin history, extraordinary one-off designs, motorsport legends and remarkable stories come together within one of Britain’s most beautiful historic estates.

Set against the magnificent backdrop of Wilton House in Wiltshire, this film explores the inaugural Concours des Légendes and some of the most memorable cars, displays and people encountered across the day.

Among the Aston Martins featured are a beautiful first-generation Aston Martin Vanquish from the Earl of Pembroke’s car collection, a competition-prepared Aston Martin DB2, a 1959 Aston Martin DB Mark III, a wonderful pre-war Aston Martin Mk II Short Chassis Tourer, and the extraordinary one-off Aston Martin Bertone Jet 2+2. The Bertone Jet 2+2 reimagined the Aston Martin Rapide as an elegant shooting brake and became one of the most fascinating cars at Wilton. We look around its unusual exterior, bespoke cabin and distinctive Bertone detailing before considering what this unique Aston Martin achieved at auction.

David, the owner of the maroon racing DB2, also takes us around his car and explains some of its competition preparation and safety equipment. The film includes specially provided in-car footage of the DB2 being driven on track. Not everything that captured our attention carried Aston Martin wings. Beneath one of Wilton’s great trees sat the actual 1989 Camel Trophy Land Rover 110 driven to victory by Bob and Joe Ives, the only British team to win the famously demanding Camel Trophy. For anyone who grew up fascinated by those extraordinary adventures, it was an unforgettable sight.

Inside Wilton House, a long corridor became a celebration of Formula One history, with helmets associated with drivers including Nigel Mansell, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, Eddie Irvine, Mika Häkkinen, Rubens Barrichello, Johnny Herbert and David Coulthard. The display also included Sir Jackie Stewart’s remarkable World Champions Helmet, created in support of Race Against Dementia and signed by living Formula One World Champions.

We also explore the beautiful interiors and gardens of Wilton House, discover more of the Earl of Pembroke’s varied car collection, visit the auction displays and meet some of the enthusiasts whose passion gives events such as this their character. Having seen the first-generation Vanquish at Wilton, the film also introduces the independent FTP Aston Martin Buyers Guides. The detailed first-generation Vanquish guide is available now, alongside guides covering the Aston Martin DBS, DB9, DB11 and VH-era V8 Vantage. Research is also under way for the forthcoming second-generation Vanquish Buyers Guide.

With thanks to David Reed for sharing his Aston Martin DB2 and permitting the use of his in-car footage.

💬 Thank you for joining me at Wilton House for Aston Martins Amongst Legends. This film reminded me that the most memorable part of a concours is not always the most valuable car, it's often the story, detail or unexpected discovery behind it.

Which moment stayed with you most, and why? Was it the one-off Bertone Jet 2+2, David’s competition-prepared DB2, the historic Aston Martins, the victorious Camel Trophy Land Rover, the Formula One helmet display, or perhaps James’s wonderful footage of the FTP Vantage at the end?

I would genuinely love to hear what captured your imagination. 👇

Thank you, as always, for watching and supporting Fuel the Passion.👍💚💛
