The People Who Built the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish | 25 Years
Meet the people who built the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish at Newport Pagnell and hear the stories, skills and memories behind one of the most important cars in Aston Martin history. Filmed at Aston Martin Works during the Vanquish’s 25th anniversary year, this special feature brings together six people whose careers are closely connected to the original V12 Vanquish.
We discover how the hides were carefully selected and cut using the original Vanquish trim patterns; explore the V12 engine, ASM transmission and some of the car’s fascinating technical details; and hear how each completed Vanquish was road-tested, inspected, painted and prepared before leaving Newport Pagnell.
The film also reveals a remarkable personal photographic archive documenting the construction of a Vanquish from its bonded aluminium structure through to final testing at Millbrook. We hear memories of the final new Vanquish leaving Newport Pagnell, the pride shared across the factory and what it was like to introduce customers to this revolutionary new generation of Aston Martin. More than two decades later, many of the same craftspeople and technicians remain at Aston Martin Works, preserving the cars and passing their Vanquish knowledge to another generation.
This is the third film in the Fuel the Passion series celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Aston Martin Vanquish. These extraordinary display cars allow us to see beneath the Vanquish bodywork and understand more about the engineering that made the car such an important step forward for Aston Martin.
